Founded in 1938 by Nozomu Matsumoto in Tokyo, Japan, Pioneer now a multinational corporation that manufactures digital entertainment products. The company was originally established as a radio and speaker repair shop, but has immerged as an innovative force in consumer electronics with a presence in Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and the United States. Pioneer introduced the world's first separate stereo system in 1962, the first component car stereo in 1975, the first car CD player in 1984, and the innovations continued.
