The company gained its recognition as a communications brand in the 1970s by producing and marketing millions of CB radios under various brand names, including Uniden, President, and Bearcat. In the 1980s, the company evolved to become the world's largest manufacturer of cordless telephones. Uniden also produced television satellite equipment, mobile radios, advanced marine electronics, and frequency scanners at the time. The company's success in Europe boomed with its introduction of 900MHz cordless phones. Uniden currently manufactures a wide range of consumer electronic products, including their top-selling XDECT, SCR, WDECT, and DSS technology cordless phone ranges. The company also manufactures transceiver radios, scanning receivers, wireless networking products, and GPS units. Uniden's business lies in research and development, manufacturing, and marketing.
