Cons	Slow pacing at beginning.
Bottom Line	I would highly recommend 1408. It is an intelligent, gripping, interesting ghost story that goes beyond just ghosts.

Pros	Completely enveloping; very atmospheric. Hair-risingly riveting and stellarly acted!
Cons	The ghosts looked too projectorized and hard-edged--something more classical would've been more terrifying.
Bottom Line	If you're looking for an expertly-acted, genuinely scary film, then you have arrived at your destination--"1408." 4.5 stars.

1408 is mind game you won't want to miss.
