	Wireless speakers will come with a transmitter that will affix to the receiver, this transmits a stereo signal up to 150 feet through walls and floors. Wired speakers are more standard (with cables necessary to carry the signals) and generally have higher sound quality than wireless models.

	Magnetic shielding is important for home theater speakers and can be found in most (if not all) multi-media speakers. (If an unshielded speaker is placed too close to near a TV or Monitor, the magnetic energy can cause picture distortion or permanently damage it. The energy can also have distorting effects on other appliances.)


	This is the material the subwoofer is made out of. While paper (or pulp) subwoofers are generally the least expensive, if they are well-made they can produce great sound. It is important to choose the material the has the attributes you are looking for.
