As the smallest bookshelf loudspeaker Klipsch has ever made, the RB-10 employs a 4-inch woofer and a 1-inch titanium-dome compression driver loaded with a 4-inch square Tractrix(R) Horn for maximum clarity and efficiency. The woofer on the RB-10 still features Klipsch's distinctive, copper-colored Cerametallic(TM) material. Made with an anodized aluminum, this cone is strong and dent resistant. The anodizing process converts its inner and out surface to ceramic. The outcome is a rigid cone with superb damping characteristics that will not flex or resonate at frequencies within the woofer's operating range. As in all Reference Series speakers, the RB-10 crossover network is constructed using extremely high-quality components including top-of-the-line internal wiring, polyester film-type capacitors and an air-core inductor to ensure signal purity and proper driver integration. The RB-10 has both a back-panel keyhole for on-wall mounting and a threaded insert for attachment to popular adjustable wall and ceiling brackets. Available in a black vinyl finish, the RB-10 features a low-diffraction sculpted baffle and magnetically attached grille for an elegant fit and finish. This bookshelf model may be small, but it carries a huge dynamic presence that is sure to blow audiences away.

Most small speakers are 2-ways, or coaxials with a single tweeter mounted above the cone of the woofers. 3-Way and 4-Way speakers offer greater sound depth and quality, as they are usually able to transmit more frequencies.

Wireless speakers will come with a transmitter that will affix to the receiver, this transmits a stereo signal up to 150 feet through walls and floors. Wired speakers are more standard (with cables necessary to carry the signals) and generally have higher sound quality than wireless models.

Magnetic shielding is important for home theater speakers and can be found in most (if not all) multi-media speakers. (If an unshielded speaker is placed too close to near a TV or Monitor, the magnetic energy can cause picture distortion or permanently damage it. The energy can also have distorting effects on other appliances.)

Terminals are the connectors on the back of the speakers that connect with the speaker cables. There are two basic types: spring clips and binding posts. Spring Clip terminals are usually found on cheaper speakers and receivers. They work best with cable with bare wire connections. Binding Post terminals are a lot more sturdier, and are often found on higher-quality speakers and receivers. They have a threaded bolt or screw that tightens down against the wire or connector for an extra-secure connection.
