Pros	Good recreation of artistic America in the 1940s and 50s.
Cons	Slow going, ultimately depressing, and frustrating in not getting us to understand a troubled soul.
Bottom Line	Slow starting, has good period detail, but frustrates the viewer in never really revealing what makes the main character tick.

Pros	Ed Harris. Having the guts to show that art is work.
Cons	Spousal abuse. Pee'ing in a fireplace. Much drunkeness.
Bottom Line	Goes a bit too far in some spots, not enough in others, so unless you're really into art, skip it.

Cons	Some may find movie too intense or depressing
Bottom Line	I would recommend Pollock as an unflinching portrait of this tortured artist's life. A must see for the performances of Ed Harris and Marcia Gay Harden.
