Pros A natural and mature expression of deep emotional pain
Cons It's not exactly a fun listen.
Bottom Line Though a challenging listen, Sea Change reveals Beck at his most human and emerges as an essential heartbreak album.

Pros 'The Golden Age' and a few other songs work
Cons Mostly overproduced and uninspired
Bottom Line A mediocre, overproduced, depressed album. But it's only getting three stars for the first two reasons.

Pros Typical randomness you might expect from Beck.
Cons Does not have the same feel as previous albums (i.e. slow and depressing).

Pros Truly the best use of surround sound I have heard.
Cons The album's hypnotic melancholic waves of sound may send you into a deep coma.
Bottom Line This and Dark Side of the Moon are THE SACDs to own to fully appreciate how excellent SURROUND SOUND can sound.

Pros +Surprisingly emotive string arrangements +Desert, dusk, driving feel +little one
Cons -Sadness as a crutch - Suited for just one mood -I'm getting bored
Bottom Line Ironically, despite being called a bottom line, there are many lines beneath it.
